hi guys. so i was waitlisted. do you guys think the yield will be higher or lower than last years? admissions office accepted only about 3,475 instead of the normal 3,750, which is strange. they must anticipate a high yield, but then again, from 2010 to 2011 the yield dropped from 37% to 35%.

I think you should stay hopeful. I was very excited to be accepted to Tufts but right now I am leaning towards another college. Another friend of mine was also accepted but he too will likely decline the Tufts admissions. In short there is at least one and perhaps two (dependent on how things fall into place for me) spots open at Tufts! :)

Thankyou! BUMP!

I honestly don’t know anyone who got in who is actually going. any theories regarding the waitlist this year?

gaaaaaaahhhhhhh. any word?

Hey!
I go to Tufts, so maybe I can answer your question. From what I understand about our admissions, if they don’t think you’re a fit, they’ll reject you. Especially in their ED applicants, they don’t want someone waiting around for them to say “Well, okaayy. I /guess/ you’re good enough.” So, congrats on getting on the wait list (that’s still a pretty big deal).

To answer your question, I think that the wait list for Tufts is a bit more forgiving than at other schools. But, in any case, no matter where you end up, you really can’t go too wrong.

thank you!! i was wondering though if there was any news about the yield this year/ whether or not admissions will use the waitlist.

I saw on the boards that someone got off the waitlist at Tufts, so it must be possible.

do you know if that was this year or a year in the past?

It was this year.

I just double checked for you - Tufts was listed as going to the waitlist, but then it was recanted. Apparently there was a misunderstanding. It was under the waitlist thread on the Parent’s Forum. Sorry about the confusion.
