Tuition and other expenses

How much does it cost to attend Auburn per year?

I’m asking because I qualified for the Presidential scholarship and apparently I will be awarded 15k/year.

Is 15k/year enough to cover everything?

Please use the internet to investigate Auburn’s tuition and fees pages. I have downloaded the main page.
http://www.auburn.edu/admissions/files/costofattendance.pdf

According to that page, your presidential scholarship is not enough to cover tuition; for a resident student, tuition is at $26K so you would need an additional $11K to attend. Non residents would need to pay $42,292, so you would need $27K more if you are OOS per year.

For a resident of Alabama – the ENTIRE cost (room, board, tuition, fees) is a little over $26K, not just tuition. That’s an important distinction. OOS tuition+fees this year is $25,190, so you will still need to cover a little over $10k. The housing estimate on the list is rather high – my daughter lives on campus, and her costs aren’t that high. My guess is they are jacking up the food costs in that estimate, and/or using the cost of the Village housing as a base cost. The Village is the most expensive option in housing. (you are currently required to add at least $2000 worth of funds to your meal debit card IF you are a campus resident – most people add more funds. Off-campus residents are required to have around $700(?) worth of funds a year).

It’s important to note that most students at Auburn live off-campus. There just isn’t enough on-campus housing for everyone. There is an abundance of off-campus housing, at just about any price point. However, living on campus your freshman year is probably a very good idea. Housing is first-come, first-served. If you are really interested in going to Auburn and you want to live on campus, get on the list as soon as you can.

Off-campus housing can vary in cost (obviously depending where you live). But, my D’s friends who live off-campus and eat off-campus don’t spend $10,606 a year. If you wanted to spend that much, it’s definitely possible.
