son got email about tuition being due sept. 3. when I looked at the account the amount due does not have the Bright Futures applied. What do I do? When will the Bright Futures be applied?

The email reads:

“Financial aid for the Fall will be applied to any outstanding charges on August 27th. Fall semester tuition is due on Friday, September 3rd, 2010.”

Just to add on to agm, you will typically see the excess Bright Futures money (if there is any) in your bank account by Monday or Tuesday at the absolute latest.

It’s a better feeling than Christmas day. :D

I posted this on 8/18, a week ago today, on another thread.

Financial aid never posts until AFTER DROP ADD. That way there are no adjustments. Each semester the registrar posts due dates and encourages students to have a firm schedule by drop add, otherwise they will pay for every course on the schedule as of the drop/add date.

The due date for outstanding money is never due until AFTER BF and other financial aid posts. You are fine. The email explained that financial aid would not post until 27th but tuition not due until Sept 3rd.

It’s a scary feeling, but don’t worry. This is my DS third year. I just checked last night (Friday 8/27) and his account indicated that all tuition fees have been paid. The balance (left over money) will be credited to his checking account Monday morning.

BF was applied when I checked this morning.

I have a quick question that doesn’t deserve its own thread. If I went to the on-campus Suntrust at opening time on Monday (to avoid the long lines and extra slow service), would the excess money be on my account then or does it occur later during the day?
I don’t want to go try to withdraw money only to find out that I do have to come back later in a much longer line. =|

^check your Suntrust account online to see if the money is available in your account before you run over to the bank. If you only want to yank a few hundred out of your account you can use any Suntrust ATM machine anywhere. I’m guessing though the excess FSU money won’t be available to withdraw until Tuesday morning, but then again it might be available Monday.

According to the email sent out to all students, it will be in everyone’s bank accounts by the next business day which is Monday. If I recall correctly, it’s usually there by Monday morning.

In any case, if you want to know exactly how much you will be receiving, go to:

Blackboard -> Secure Apps -> My Account Statement

Look for My Account History, and it will be listed as “08/27/10 COMBINED FSUCARD”

^^^Thank you Matt125, that was a very confusing statement.
