Tuition Exchange for Fall 2022 Freshman applicants (Class of 2026)

I can’t imagine your daughter won’t have several to choose from when it’s all said and done as her stats are excellent. The only overlap we had with S19 was Bucknell and he had similar stats but no athletics (Eagle Scout).

Congrats to your kid, that’s a great position to be in!! DePaul doesn’t award it to all. I met with financial aid when we visited a couple of weeks ago and asked questions. It’s clear that not everyone is accepted, it’s not clear how they pick. FA says HR makes the decision and FA is in a holding pattern until decisions are released. She didn’t know how they choose (only that it’s a subset of those who are eligible)

I have been following this and other TE threads for 2 years. The information has been extremely helpful to us - so thank you, everyone. I will post a summary and my advice when we are done! Our son is in the application/TE process now. He applied for Computer Science or Software Engineering. He was notified he received TE at Merrimack on 3/7. Accepted to UDel, RIT, and WPI - waiting on TE decisions. Accepted at URI (non-TE). Waitlisted at UMASS Amherst (assuming bc of competitive major), have not received admissions decision from Syracuse or Stevens (applied RD)

Just heard from UDel…DD was waitlisted. That’s better than a no!

Two co-workers had their children TE waitlisted at UDEL…both the same year (HS class of 2019). Both waited it out and got in. Big celebration in the office that day. And both are thriving at UDEL.

That’s great to hear. We’re going to keep thinking positive thoughts!

My son denied TE at Del - no waitlist either :frowning:

Here’s our results so far (this is for nursing):

Assumption: denied TE and CIC
Emmanuel: denied TE (they gave 1, my bother even participating in the program)
Endicott: still waiting TE and CIC
Sacred Heart: still waiting TE
Salve: accepted TE
University of New England: still waiting TE and CIC

Funny thing is that my DD is at or above their 75% for the ACT so I have to begin to wonder if there is particular great demand this year (S19 had more success), if academic program plays a part, need plays a part, or they are using it as a recruitment tool for athletics or something like that. Our home institution is also a member of CIC and member schools must accept three incoming applicants. We didn’t both inquiring at Assumption as she became disinterested there, but I sure will for the other two CIC schools.

Perhaps it’s the nursing degree? I’ve seen some tuition reciprocity agreements between states where they’ve excluded nursing…presumably because there is so much demand and they think they will get someone in the seat who will pay more, compared to a less in-demand major?

Either way, congratulations on the Salve acceptance and fingers crossed for the decisions you’re still awaiting!

Thanks, I was thinking the same. I’m not at the home TE institution, but at a public where we have nursing. Nursing is by no means a loss leader and it actually costs us money to offer the program. Well, in reality it’s the other progams like liberal studies in part fund the expensive programs.

My son was offered TE at RIT, which has been at the top of his list! We are taking another trip out there this weekend with my husband. Big relief!

Daughter was denied TE at Berry College today. Hopefully we’ll have better luck with the others!

Sorry to hear that, and best of luck for the remaining! For one of the places where we are still waiting, my DD reached out to the AO. I’m not certain if that will help though as decisions come out from HR. I would assume or at least hope that enrollment folks are included in the process. We have one very good TE, but we definitely want options and this one isn’t atop the list so far.

Tulane just gave my Daughter (c/o 2026) a TE scholarship, so I guess it does happen. She applied EA, and we are in Louisiana (but several hours from New Orleans)

@mmurov

High stats I assume?

Congrats either way!!!

Congrats!!

Still im/patiently waiting for a few TE notifications… This is no fun!

Daughter was awarded TE to Bucknell, which is great. The not-so-great part is that they are a “set rate” school and no other merit scholarships were included, despite her stats. But hey, it’s still good news to have some feedback!

Hopefully all our im/patience will be rewarded here soon.

Anyone else heard back from Tulane? My daughter applied EA and was accepted to the school but has not heard back from TE.
