As of 12 can you start signing up for new classes? Are there a lot of openings or not really?

Tips?

You sign up on the 23rd.

That is when official add drop is.
Jeeze guys look at the calender.

ooh man, DON’T remind people! I really really hope A LOT of students are going to forget to pay their tuition by the deadline!!! I am on waitlist for three of my classes!

It is true that waitlists will kick in immediately, but we can’t actually pick/move around classes until the 23rd.

But you’re safe if your Tuition Bill says Registration Complete right? I’m paying with financial aid which hasn’t been disembursed yet.

Correct. The green “Registration Complete” means you are good.

mine says my registration is complete and your payment is deferred to financial aid.

Am i set?

yeah i don’t have any green “registration complete,” at least not any that i can see. but my “what i owe” page does show this message:

“Your registration is complete and your payment is deferred to financial aid. The funds will be released in the near future. You do not need to take any action at this time.”

hopefully this is good.

If you deffered payments to fin aid and are short, meaning you still owe some money what then?

You need to pay if it doesn’t say “Registration Complete”. If the financial aid comes up short in the future, you will owe money in the future.

Here’s what I said in another topic:

If you paid the total you are set.

It’s weird they did not do it like this last year. Last year there was never a deferred payment until September whatever for financial aid. At least not for me.

So does this mean that those of us that are deferring it to financial aid will still have access to the add/drop system on the 23rd even though we technically haven’t paid?

Yes. If you paid what was owed before the deferral and it says registration complete, you can add on the 23rd.

I find it extremely disturbing that some people are hoping their longhorn colleagues forget to pay their tuition so they can simply get the classes they prefer.

I know right? I highly doubt a ton of people will not pay. If you don’t have the money at the moment you can delay and take out a tuition loan. xD

If you do happen to ‘forget’ I say you deserve to loose all your classes for being so careless.

When do you think we’ll find out what professor we have if we chose an unassigned class?

It could be as late as the first day of class when you walk into the classroom.

“I find it extremely disturbing that some people are hoping their longhorn colleagues forget to pay their tuition so they can simply get the classes they prefer.”

I know this is directed at me. Sorry, I didn’t mean it to sound that bad(I was half joking)…I am on waitlist for 3 of my classes and I am just hoping that I will get in to those classes, that’s all.

Sorry again if I offended anybody.

Ok I just saw that many classes reopened again for students who haven’t registered yet(for August 20th) and I am sure those classes will be filled up before we(already registered students) get the chance. My question is will more classes open up for the Add/drop time as well(which is on August 23rd)?

Thanks in advance!

During the drop add time, more classes will open up because people will drop classes, creating openings for those who want to add those classes. (Some people drop to give themselves fewer credits and some people drop to put themselves into classes with current openings. Thus, new openings are created.)
