For those who already went to orientation, do they explain when and how do we have to pay our tuition fee?

Just login to your my.usc.edu page and click “USCe.pay and USC Payment Plan” under Student Links. However, until you register for classes and financial aid is posted as well as other things such as the health insurance waiver, the balance will not be current.

Thanks but it says that I am not authorized to access USCe.pay and USC payment plan. Do you have an idea why?

DS just finished freshman year. We got the invoice around 7/23 and it was due around the time classes started. My guess is after the June billing cycle ends (around 6/23), they will start loading the charges for Fall 2012. As War Chant says, you will see them appear and then the invoice will be posted.

The student can usually login to epay through oasis. Once the student is logged in they can also setup guest accounts so that emails automatically get sent to whomever(parents?) notifying them when a new tuition/fee bill is due and for how much. It explains the options for paying too.

If you don’t have access yet, I’d just wait until after orientation or until you register (if not attending orientation) as nothing will show up until you actually have signed up for classes, they won’t bill the other charges separately and then add in flat rate tuition.

I really appreciate the help but… I am still kinda mixed up here. Sorry =-/
Lets see if I understand, I either have to wait for them to load the charges for fall 2012 (around the 6/23), or if it doesn’t work I’ll have to try again after orientation.

@Kulakai, speaking of oasis how or when do you get your pin code?

Thanks for all the help =-)

They aren’t going to bill you period until you register for classes (or later), and since you register for classes at orientation, even if you log in now, it will just show a balance of $0.00.

Even when they bill you, there are still things that need to be factored in such as financial aid, outside scholarships, and health insurance so the balance will not be final until everything is fully posted.

You can login to OASIS from your my.usc without a pin code but I believe the default pin code is your birthday (XX/XX/XX).

Two things.

Must register. No charges appear until then (excepting appl/orientation type fees).

Must have access to epay account which can only be granted by student. You’ll want that so you can add $ to the discretionary account associated with the ID as well.

Ought to set up access to oasis at the same time as well.

Don’t forget to get your medical insurance waiver underway too or you will pay for the Aetna plan.

My DS just came back from orientation. Neither he nor we have access through oasis. Both are saying that there is no authorization for this part of the account, even though he can access everything else in OASIS and so can we through the guest access he signed up for us. I’m guessing that they haven’t loaded new freshman info into the system. And this first orientation group just finished registering on Friday afternoon at 5:00, so maybe the info hasn’t transferred to the correct places yet- and might done on Monday or later this week. If nothing changes in a few weeks I plan to call and ask.

Here is what the website says:

Summer 2012: Tuition & fees are assessed at time of registration and due when billed
(see billing statements on USCe.pay for summer tuition due date).
Fall 2012: tuition & fees are due by 5pm PST on Friday 8/24/12.
Tuition & fees for preregistered students will be assessed on or before 7/27/12,
so that a fall billing statement may be generated on 7/28/12.
Register by 5pm PST on Friday, 7/27/12 to receive a fall billing statement.

NEW Students: New student accounts on USCe.pay are created when we assess the
1st semester’s tuition & fees even if a commitment deposit has been paid.
If you are a NEW student, online financial services will not be available until that time,
(and you will see an error message that you are “not authorized to access” USCe.pay).

Ok thanks =-)

There is an option to pay tuition by credit card. I don’t see where thy charge a surcharge for doing this. Has anyone done this?

Yes. I only pay with credit card. There is no fee! It is a great way to rack up points/miles!

maddenmd, how was orientation and registration? Hope your S had a good experience!

Hi Madbean: He had a GREAT experience. Met people he thinks will be good friends, liked his roommate- and was able to register with one small glitch- needed permission to register for a language he’s never taken before, and no one was there to give it to him: but that got solved yesterday. He says it was a LOT of fun. He was very glad it worked out for him to attend.
