goldnjet2, I'm in the exact same boat as you. I applied to Texas mainly because it was cheap out of state. Now it is just as expensive out of state as any private school. I've never heard of a school increasing tuition THAT much.

goldnjet2, can you please post this link?

Cause I can't find it.....thanks.

Here is a link to the tuition increase announcement: http://www.utexas.edu/opa/news/2006/03/tuition29.html. It appears that out-of-state tuition will increase to $26,000 per year ($13,000 per semester), but it also says that families making less than $80,000 per year will pay only a fraction of the increase. I'm not sure if that includes out-of-state students or only Texas residents, but it might apply to both.

you have to dig and look under the Austin site-

these are rates for incoming freshman -
here the the actual #'s for OOS business per semster/year
current $8680/17,360 2006-2007 $11,289/22,578 (30% increase) 2007-2008 - $14,250/$28,500 (26% increase from 2006-07, 65% increase from 2005-05)

but I thoght us citizens get to pay instate after one year

business school costs are going to double for in-state in 2 years? WHAT

Okay, thanks....

So for those OOS who are enrolling this fall, the cost is.

year 1- 18500
year 2- 22500 = 4000 increase
year 3- 28500 = 10000 increase
year 4- 28500 = 10000 increase
Total increase (assuming base = 18500/yr) is $24 000
(figures taken from dodgerblue's post)

Am I right?

We only know the first 2 years. The letter didn't specify 2008-2009 and 2009-2010. It also varies depending on major.

Ok, so for those of us (OOS and international) who are enrolling in McCombs this fall, will we pay 18500 or 22500 for our freshman year?

we will pay $22,500.

Wow, that blows...
Year1 - 22 500
Year2 - 28 500

Do you think they will will implement further increases for Years 3 & 4?

the way things are going now....im guessing there will be increases yearly...but not as much as the next two years....

does any one know if enrolling now is counted as enrolled befor summer even if one does not enroll for summer prgrm?Because then one pays last yr fee.

I'm pretty sure tuition invoices will go out in July after you register for classes and tuition is due mid-August
