Wow, I'm really surprised Cornell picked that book! I had to read it freshman year, but I definitely loved it. It's not difficult AT ALL, just one of those books that is wonderful for discussion.

i hate discussions. our teacher makes us overanalyse every single detail. you know what classic books are, they are books long enough in print so that critics have enought time to find bulldoodoo and coincidences to imprint the book as a 'fountain' of literary terms

Things Fall Apart is a really short and easy read. Its good for required reading (IMO), but I'm just glad that I don't have to read something new over the summer. Is it even required though?

lol well my english teacher is a jackass...this is the only book she can actually comprehend. and yes, she is the lady who is "preparing" us for the AP exam! i'm so screwed...

Hahahah I feel your pain, my "english teacher" wrote me a christmas card that said something like "I have hoped you are enjoyed your break" aka something completely illiterate! LOL My mom was on the verge of calling the school !

hahah! i remember on the first day of class, she wrote some quote on the board, and she spelled success completely wrong. lol and i knew that was a bad omen for us! oh and a girl in my class asked her what the meaning of "heart of darkness" was and she totally didn't know, so shes like "what do you think?" it was hilarious! it's SO sad though, cuz if i'm lucky i'll get a 2 on the AP exam...and thats my goal.

Haha my English teacher's pretty quiet. He prefers to let us run the class, but I like it that way. I figure it can't be that different from the AP Language & Comp exam, right? I've already read most of the books suggested for the essay...

is cornell gionna send us the book in the mail? from what ive read about it (plot summary) its stupid book, but form cc it seems ok in fact maybe good... but personally i think its just another high school reading novel that we must do cuz it has some sort of educational value etc etc. Oh well, ill prolly read it too, one its short, and 2, im a good kid too, well , arent we all admits?? lol. Also, if they send it to us, its not like we paid for a bad book. And to read it cuz its the assignment, mine as well, its so easy, even if it kinda sucks.. Lastly, i think i have read everything possible about cornell and am anxious to read nething cornell related that comes new like the daily sun or these posts, lol, i want to learn all about cornell.....Im going down there this friday!!! can't wait, prob be a bit cold, but no colder than where i am right now (jsut went to cornell 2x in the very very hott summer time. Too hott to walk around.

Wait, why would Cornell send us the book? We have to purchase textbooks galore on our own and you really think they'd mail a summer reading book?
