I know basically when one takes 20+ credits per quarter there should be an addition to the original tuition. So how does this one count?

To be a full-time student, you have to take between 12 credits and 20 credits a term. It costs the student taking 12 credits just as much as it costs the student to take 20 credits a term. If you go over 20 credits you’d have to pay an additional amount of tuition by credit which is around $800 per credit. So if you take 24 credits a term, you’ll end up paying $3200. I don’t know why anyone would need to do this if they plan carefully, and for me, taking over 20 drexel credits is just way too much work. The only instances of people that have done this that I know of are those that need to fit in the extra course to graduate senior year. Just remember every term during co-op, you get 4 credits of free classes, which is basically like $6400 free dollars of tuition per co-op cycle if you choose to take classes.

zack your answers are excellent but i guess you just missed my point … or it’s my poor understanding that sucks. anyway, i still wonder if i elected courses at the master’s level to finish my accelerated BS/MS program, will these master’s courses be charged an extra fee? or will they be treated just the same as my original collegiate courses, but when they and my collegiate courses altogether exceed the 20 credits/q threshold, the addendum will be charged? or any other way around …

thx

Sorry, I didn’t realize you’re asking about the BS/MS program. I believe the masters courses are done on the graduate tuition rate, but when you get into BS/MS there’s a lot of weird stuff that goes on. I would encourage you to call someone at Drexel and ask them specifically about the financial aspects of this.
