<p>Just got our first bill! (Hooray for us?). What is tuition insurance? Do I need it? Has anyone had to use it?</p>

<p>I have friends who didn’t have it, and regretted that decision. Their child’s heath was much more shaky than they had believed, and they were full-pay at an expensive private LAC. My kid was fiendishly healthy, and her in-state costs were so cheap that it wasn’t worth it to me to pay for tuition insurance. Your mileage, as the saying goes, will probably vary.</p>
