what!!?? wow. This is outrageous!

i really hope not…how is 11.5 credits 13k but 12 credits is 22k?

I don’t understand, this is from their financial aid office site, it has to be official/ *** *** ***

the 12 credits or more to me sounds like the max credit of 20.5? Wouldn’t make sense otherwise.

what does the max credit of 20.5 have to do with anything? I don’t understand.

I don’t understand , i don’t understand, I’m going crazy right now

look at the 9 to 11.5 credit tuition for commute… compare it to the 12 or more… it doesn’t add up. I think that tuition price is for the max credit you can earn in a semester. Also compare the 6 to 8.5 credits tuition to the of the 9 to 11.5… the price is only $3k different in credit price…the ratio is the same in terms of credits, how can 12 credits go up that much?

But what does that have to do with the price part, it doesn’t make sense at all! once you pass 12 credits, it’s free thereafter. I don’t understand what you’re saying. How can the tuition price be the maximum credit you can earn in a semester

i guess its not free anymore? thats my point lol…

Even if it’s not free, you multiple 22 credits by 360 per credit (pretty usual charge per credit) it will only result in 4320 dollars, plus maybe 6000 dollars school fee and other stuff, can’t accumulate to 22,000 dollars, that’s insane!

This is cost of attendance for the year, not tuition.

The cost of attendance is the gross amount you’ll be paying (it doesn’t factor any financial aid or loans). This includes all of your fees, such as books, meal plan, etc.

Tuition is simply the cost of your classes; it’s very misleading to evaluate colleges by this.

Nothing looks out of place here to me…

the 12 credits or more to me sounds like the max credit of 20.5? Wouldn’t make sense otherwise.

Yes, most colleges have a flat tuition rate for a >12 credit load

Looks pretty shocking to me. Last year I paid about 24k for my son as in-state, on-campus student. Looks like there is a 5k increase.

Is that possible?

oh if its for the entire year period that makes more sense to me.

A 20% rate increase doesn’t make sense to me.

$22,000 for the in-state tuition + room and board and other expenses. I don’t see what’s out of line there.

“$22,000 for the in-state tuition + room and board and other expenses. I don’t see what’s out of line there.”

What is considered full time? Because that is the price listed for up to 11.5 credits.

XU701zero look at this page from 2010-2011 http://studentaid.rutgers.edu/coa/2010-11coa_new.pdf

It looks similar to this year. ie, I did not pay the amount listed at 12 credits and above even though my son was a full time student.

In a semester system, a full-time student is classified as one whom is enrolled in ≥ 12 credits.

After financial aid, these figures will be lower.

It is true. Add in ancillary expenses and the like with housing and you’re looking at private school tuitions… I am supposed to go to RU this fall, but it is F***ing crazy!!

That is for the entire year and is the entire cost of attendence not just tuition. It takes into account tuition, fees, books, and personal expenses. The on-campus is a lot higher then what was originally estimated on their site before though. I was told a rough estimate for the total cost would be $25,000 for living on campus, but this says $30,000…
