When and How do we make the tuition payment for enrollment fall 2007?

We've already made the first one - you should have gotten something in the mail about it.

What happens if i still didn't make any payment? Am I in big trouble?

I know that intels were required to send in half of the tuition by mid June or something...

mathmom

How long ago did you receive that mailing? I'm wondering if I need to contact Enrollment Services or just wait a bit.

thanks

i didnt get anything about tuition payment in mail... "fall semester Student Account Invoice" is due to me by early june though...

You shouldn't be in trouble, but I'd definitely call. It was a mailing with a payment plan - you could pay the first payment in June, but there were options for making the first payment later as well. I think we got it in late May. I thought it was a little odd, since the exact cost of housing will vary depending on which dorm you get assigned to.

Mathmom is talking about the optional Tuition Management Systems (an outside company) where you pay a fee ($70 this year) and they pay CMU the lump sums then you pay TMS monthly or whatever schedule (we do 3 payments first semester then 5 payments second semester). It allows you to spread out the payments instead of coming up with the cash upfront. The initial setup can be based on an estimate then you make adjustments when you get the actual figures. Our first payment isn't due til 9/1/07 so you can still sign up - go to www.afford.com.

Last year, the first Student Account Invoice was dated 7/6 and I think mailed 7/10/06 - I have handwritten notes that it was due 8/18/06 even though the invoice says "upon receipt". And the TMS payment was made 8/4/06. So if you're paying CMU directly there is plenty of time - don't worry!

Also as a note if you are getting an outside scholarship that will be paid directly to CMU (like NMS) you can leave that balance on the books.

We are doing 12 payments per year so it never ends...but the monthly amounts are lower.

You are right, it was the Tuition payment management system.

FYI this year's invoice just arrived in the mail - due 8/17.

thanks all---just received our invoice
