tuition problems?

is anyone else a little worried about how pricey SLC is? i love the school and all, unfortunately i think price might be a major factor in my choosing to go there or not.

Me too. I was really excited about getting in, then my mom nearly died when she read the tuition. I got nearly not financial aid (around 2,500 a year). The tuition is the main thing stopping me from attending because of a huge scholarship I got from another university.

i'm pretty much in the same exact situation you're in.

It sucks, especially since I've been dreaming about going to SLC since I was about 13.

Same as all above. I got 2700 financial aide... according to their forms that means they expect me to pay 43,000 a year if you add everything up.

MY FAMILY MAKES 60,000 A YEAR!

Thats a little bit ridiculous if I do say so myself considering I have a younger brother, and thats more than 2/3rds of our income.

GAH! I want to go so badly though!

Well, my mom makes roughly $25,000 a year. Do you want to know the statistic for people in my income range at Sarah Lawrence? Yup. Zero percent. I got $15,000 aid per year, but there's still no way I can attend if I have to pay $35,000... wow... I just realized that's more money than we actually have in a year. waves goodbye to slc

i'm in a similar situation...
i received my financial aid package today and it was not nearly as high as my family was expecting. i guess the next step is appealing? do you have to accept the offer they give you first? is anyone familiar with this process?

thanks, good luck to all of you.

I got my acceptance to SLC yesterday and was really pumped when I saw 11k per semester in my gift award, totalling about 27k per year with everything. How does this compare to everyone else? Thinking about it now and talking it over with my mom, it's still not that great considering 36k tuition and 12k r&b. Steeeeeeeep.

read the above posts about how your aid compares.

it's not really 36 K per year and 12 K room and board is it? I thought it was more like 42 K total.

remember, nothing is finalized until you get your letters in april... after they see your parents tax returns...

i got a really solid package, i hope it stays that way
