Let me start off by saying a few things. First of all, if this is the wrong board I'm really sorry. It just seemed like the best one to post this type of question in. Secondly, I have honestly tried my best and have been to all corners of the web to find this information, but it is hard.

Alright. Here we go.

I'm a Junior in High School in Northern California, and right now my options are either decent CSU, or go to Community College and transfer. While I'd like to go to a four year (CSU) straight out of High School, I don't feel like I'm ready and feel that a community college would gear me up and get me prepared better than I am right now.

The problem is, if I were to go the CC route, I'd really like to go to Austin Community College and transfer to UT Austin. My dad, however, says that this is out of the question because UT is crazy expensive. However, I've got a feeling -and my research has mostly come back saying- that two years at community college and two years at UT, plus housing in Austin, would come to about the same total as going to an average four year CSU for four years. However, the tuition rates are pretty confusing, and I can't seem to get any definitive answers.

That's where the wisdom of College Confidential comes in. Below are links to what I found to aid you in your helping me. If you could, please, lay out for me exactly how much each option would cost (over four years), that would be fantastic.

So here are the basics. My options are:

Average CSU for four years (Housing, Books, the whole shebang).
-or-
Austin Community College for two years, UT- Austin for two years, staying at University Towers Austin for all four years.

Here's what I gathered up so far..
Community Towers Austin ~ $10,000/yr (http://www.tiec.org/tiep/housinglist.pdf)

Austin Community College $???/yr (Tuition: http://www.austincc.edu/support/admissions/tuitionchart.php)
Remember I'm out of state

UT- Austin $???/yr (Tuition: http://www.utexas.edu/business/accounting/pubs/tf_flatsem.pdf)
Again, Out of State

And you can pick the most average CSU possible to use. Remember I need housing, books, transport, everything.

Thank you guys so much, this has really been bothering me but I can't figure it out!
