How do tuition waivers work ?? When are they applied and would out of state students be eligible based on merit? Please adivse..

This is likely going to vary on a school-by-school basis. Most of the time, you’ll never see the waiver or OOS tuition scholarship as a deduction of your total bill, you’ll just receive bills for the in-state amount. Most of the awards are based on merit (GPA and ACT/SAT are normally how you qualify for them, as with any other financial award), and they will actually change your status in their system to “resident” for billing purposes, so all the paperwork you ever receive showing your bill will have been prepared as if you lived in your school’s state.
