In the "transaction Detail" of my barc, it says I was charged $4553.39 for fall tuition, which would make total tuition about $13,660. My official financial aid letter lists tuition as $12,192. I have 4 classes for 16 units, so I would think that would be what the financial aid letter is based off of. Now, this combined with me getting billed for a double when I wanted a triple, leaves $400 unpaid on my barc, and I still need to buy books and supplies. I'm thinking of turning my work study into a loan and still work on campus, but I want to know if there is any kind of appeal I can do to increase my financial aid. I see that there is a "Request for Additional Unsubsidized Loan" application on the Financial Aid website, but it says the requirement for using it is that the parent has been denied from a PLUS loan. My award letter doesn't even offer a PLUS loan (my EFC=0; I don't want a PLUS loan anyway/parents wouldn't be able to pay it). If I can't get this request to go through, is my only other option to get private loans? I want to know my options, and I'm sure the tuition increase is affecting others too.
