Tuition

I was looking at how much I will need to borrow for next year. I was wondering if the tuition listed was set for everybody, regardless of the number of credits , or whether that was for a certain number and had to pay for additional credits.

Nope, the tuition is set. There is a limit on how many credits you can register for per semester, but you can always apply for overloads, you just need to talk to your adviser.

how many is an overload? just out of curiousity

An overload is anything over 18. To give you an idea of what that means: A normal class that meets for 2.5 hours/wk is 3 credit hours, labs are usually 1-2 credits (usually meet 2-6 hours a week). Tutorials that usually meet once a week are given 0.5-1 credits. Research with a professor is usually given 1 credit for every 3 hours/wk. There are also several 1 credit service seminars offered over breaks. There are some classes that are offered that meet less and are only 1-2 credits. PE (required for all freshmen) and certain seminars (required for specific majors) are 0 credits.
