Same here, deferred EA, now seeing “fund” and “term” on Gibson.
Thanks @zgreen247 Hope it means the same for me.
@obfromjersey @collegemom111111 Hope it’s a good omen
@lavendermary Thanks! I figure it can’t be BAD news, because why would they set up the portal for “fund” and “term”" only for those getting rejected? So it either means nothing or is good news. Has anyone looked and NOT seen “fund” and “term” added? That would be telling as it would indicate some differentiation.
Do any deferred EA applicants or RD applicants NOT see “fund” and “term” on Gibson now?
I was deferred EA and I do not see Fund and Term on my Gibson so it may be good news for you all!!
sorry, I actually do have Fund and Term on my portal too.
@happytimesforever No worries, at this point I’m guessing it doesn’t mean anything.
We received an acceptance today after the change on the Gibson portal last night. Good luck to everyone!
@obfromjersey Wow, congratulations! I guess maybe it did mean something. What time did you get the acceptance? Email or just portal update? Thx.
@collegemom111111 Email directing us to the portal for the update
@obfromjersey Interesting. Did you do anything to show continued demonstrated interest and/or send in additional materials?
@collegemom111111 My D e-mailed her counselor after the deferral and self-reported her second semester grades because her high school has not sent the official mid-year transcripts yet
@obfromjersey Great news. Congrats.
@obromjersey My D emailed her counselor and sent in a resume (hadn’t previously). Semester grades were sent. Still no update. What major and stats does your D have (if you don’t mind sharing)?
@collegemom111111 My D is a so-called “high stats” student, but anyone following this forum knows that is not the only consideration at Tulane. Biology major. Best of luck to everyone!
@obfromjersey I may just send in my latest grades to let them know I’m really interested.
very interesting that you were admitted after noticing the change on Gibson. Congrats!! I will stay cautiously optimistic that my daughter has the same outcome.
I see Fund and Term columns - they are blank though
Well, our financial aid portal was updated with the results after we submitted all the forms. We were offered student loans and nothing else. I really wish I understood the logic of some of this. The amount that we are expected to pay is quite literally 50% of our take home pay after taxes, medical insurance, social security, and our 401k deductions. We can’t afford to stop the 401k because we have no pension benefits whatsoever, and my maternity leaves early on and job losses between my husband and I over the last decade depleted savings (we need to fund until we are both 68 in order to be able to retire, and I’m 57 now). How I wish we were still able to pay the mortgage, property taxes, utilities, food, and keep the other kids still at home fed on 50% of our income. There’s no way in hell it’s possible. We’re waiting on that last hail mary pass on the Paul Tulane Award before the Tulane dream has to be put to pasture.
