Tulane Class of 2023

False alarm. Someone completely misconstrued something they saw. As you were.

Thank you, collegemom9 for the clarification. VERY much appreciated!

I just got in ED 3.7 UW 1350 SAT

I think it was my essays,

@joshcrommie Congratulations!!!

Here’s the letter sent out to college counselors – EA decisions will be released all at once, just as the ED ones were.

Dear Counselor,

With most EA and ED deadlines in the rear view mirror, the waiting game begins. We’re hoping to reduce your student’s anxiety this year by shifting over to a single decision date for both Early Decision and Early Action. ED admission letters will leave the Office of Admission on November 16th. Green Wave portals will be updated on Monday, November 19th at 4 PM CST. We will reach out again once the Early Action decision date is set so that you are prepared to counsel your students.

Speaking of anxiety, in my blog today, I’ve shared ten ways your students can reduce it as they wait out admission decisions. You might even find some helpful tips in here as well.

I wish you and your family a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Sincerely,

Jeff Schiffman
Director of Admission

For those who applied EA, would they have already notified about an interview? How do you go about getting one if they haven’t heard anything about it? She clicked on the box that asked in the application.

@pacnwfromne a couple of days after applying the portal has a spot where you can sign up. After about a week my son was assigned an interviewer who actually reached out to him before he reached out to her. His interview was the evening on the phone.

@pacnwfromne I got an email about a week after applying prompting me to sign up on the portal. Shortly after, my interviewer reached something out to me and I had my interview about a week and a half ago.

The website now says that interviews are not being offered any longer: “The Alumni Interview Program for the 2018 application season has reached capacity, and no more interviews will be offered at this time. Please keep in mind the interview program is optional and the lack of an interview will not hurt your chance of admission to Tulane.”

For those accepted in this first ED round, did you or your child receive merit aid?

Yes, my son received a merit scholarship. From what I’ve read I think it might be based on a combination of GPA and SAT/ACT? A few other schools, not Tulane, are transparent about this and post a grid that shows specifically what merit scholarships are awarded based on these stats so I’m thinking maybe it’s the same with Tulane and they just don’t publish it.

Does reaching out to your local rep and establishing Tulane as your #1 help at all? I had to apply EA bc my family wasn’t able to make the financial commitment.

Got in ED, 34 ACT (Superscore else 31). Merit scholorship 15K. IB Program predictive 41

I am an EA. I just got an email that gave me access to Gibson. In the To do list area, Under requirement it says “Admission decision pending review” and under status “Established and Requested”. Do you guys have similar entries?

@Goose15 When did you apply?

Yes my son just got the email this am and has the same entries.

My daughter also received an email with access to Gibson Portal. I guess that is just the next step to let you know FAFSA was received and that they are reviewing…???

I’m sure the email was sent to everyone who applied for financial aid.

@201five - I applied Oct 7
