Tulane Class of 2023

I remember when I was applying to grad school. I called the Stanford admissions office after decisions had been released and asked if they had made a decision on my application. They said “well, you haven’t been accepted, but you also aren’t on the waitlist.” Turned out that back then they kept a small number of folks in limbo and waited to see what their yield was before extending offers to this group. I was a week into graduate school in late August (at my second choice), when Stanford finally called and said I was accepted… by then I had moved to NYC, lugged all my stuff up numerous flights of stairs, bought all my books for fall semester, and was three days into class… I politely declined. So they do all seem to have their system…

The more I think about this the more I wonder if this year’s admit rates will decrease again as Tulane tries to avoid repeating the over-enrollment from the last few years. Yield has increased significantly and the last two (three?) admitted classes have been larger than ideal. It has caused some challenges on campus with housing and infrastructure. They have dealt with it but I don’t think it is something they can continue to sustain long-term. I could see them becoming more selective and then actually utilizing the waitlist ( they have admitted zero from the waitlist for the last several years) to be able to be more precise in their numbers for this class. Will be interesting to see how it plays out.

@pishicaca – You may well be right. As their yield % continues to increase, they may err on less EA/RD admits. Let’s hope they wait til class of 2024 to start that though :slight_smile:

Does anyone know when Tulane releases their EA decisions?

@Dungareedoll
Tulane announced on their Facebook page that EA results will be released on Dec 20th at 3:30pm CST.

They said on their Facebook that EA decisions would be out at 3:30 on 12/20. Good luck!

Did anyone else’s Gibson portal change?

@mlg0312 How did yours change?

When do they let you know whether you have been awarded a merit scholarship like the Paul Tulane scholarship?

@iaskyy I figured it out, it just ended up manually going to my profile settings and I couldn’t go back, but I closed out and logged back in and it went back to normal.

@CaptainRonnie, I believe those notifications go out in late February

I’m EA and still haven’t heard, but for all my EA’s out there, we will hear back by 1/15

I think on the Tulane Admissions Facebook page they said we would hear on December 20!

Tulane ED2 button no longer works for us…

My EDII button works… could this mean that maybe that you do not have permission because they accepted you? Kinda worried now

There was much speculation about it last year but who knows…

Can more people test the EDII button? mine did not work

Mine is not working!

After decisions came out was there any conclusion on its significance?

Just read through the 2022 thread and EDII Gate was true for 10+ people. My button is working so I guess ill die
