My S23 was accepted EA. He was excited and surprised as Tulane is a reach school.
Does anyone have any insight or experience with the Freeman School of Business? I know it has a great reputation, but what specifically makes it great?
He is thinking of Finance as a major and likes how there is a specialization in Energy and also a Corporate Finance Track and an Investments Track. Any info on any of these? How is recruitment for jobs in New Orleans?
Is there one specific date for RD decisions or does it just come out randomly?
Yes - Freeman has a brand new business school - it is state of the art. The startup community is very strong in Nola and Tulane has funding through a start-up fund they finalized last year. The school has a great tight knit community - my daughter is a freshman and loves it.
We are looking forward to going back for an admitted students day - “Destination Tulane” in March. Exciting to hear about Freeman! Glad to hear your daughter is loving it. Interesting to hear about the start up fund & tight knit community. Thank you!
I actually have a couple of questions.
1>By when do kids know if they are being looked for the TPM program?
2> I know Tulane is counted as a Reach school but not sure how good its premed education is?
if someone could help us know more I would really appreciate it.
email was sent out saying decisions will be released march 8th!
I don’t think everyone got this email–only some did i’m pretty sure. tulane does semi-rolling admissions. i think the certain rejects/accepts are notified first and the borderlines will be later. cause not everyone on reddit got this email
The email was in my DS spam folder. For all intents it looked like a “general” broadcast since it started out with “if you’ve already committed to another school please withdraw your application with us so we can extend acceptances to kids who want them”. Then it said towards the bottom of the email - decisions to be released 3/8.
DS was an EA that was deferred (if we think it only went to some population, that might help define it).
Just got through scanning last years thread. Other than EA/ED announcements it seems like everyone posted there that they received notifications at the same time at the end of March. That said, there wasn’t a single person that posted an acceptance. Overwhelmingly the decisions were offers to waitlist.
I suppose if Tulane is going to offer waitlist to everyone they figure there’s need to wait until the end of the month to send those out!
When looking to last year for clues, keep in mind that Tulane has both a new Dean of Admissions and Director of Admissions this year. Things may not be handled the same as they were.
Possible but the behavior up to this point has been consistent. Push ED1, defer almost everyone out of EA - and try to push those into ED2. From Tulane’s standpoint it’s a pretty good approach - high yield, numbers make them look super-selective, etc. Unless they’re not getting the quality of student they want from that approach (they have a high retention and graduation rate), why change it? Not trying to be argumentative - just throwing it out there.
We were wondering if the March 8th date was all remaining applicants of just some of them. My son received the email and it looks pretty general, but I don’t see anything from the school online in any of the usual places announcing that date. My understanding is they took two thirds of the class early this year.
Same here. Got the email. Originally deferred from EA.
DD received the email and applied RD.
Anyone know what time decisions usually come out?
Just going by postings from previous years looks like 4CT (5EST). Then again, those years seemed to be releasing decisions on 3/31 so who knows.
TU Admission Facebook:
“We expect to release our final offers of admission to nearly 400 students for our Class of 2027 on Wednesday, March 8th”
This is from Tulane’s website. They directly state, “We release admission decisions as they become available, up to the notification deadline for each application period (December 15th for Early Decision applicants, January 15th for Early Action applicants, and April 1st for Regular Decision applicants). It is important to remember that this means some students will receive their admission decision at different times than others.”
And yet @Justmehere just posted a statement from FB that completely contradicts that.
Good luck to the everyone trying to be one of the 400!
