Congrats to all who were accepted! And deferred, thereā€™s still a chance! We have a Tulane hat they sent my DD, anyone want it  just kidding but was hopeful maybe it was a good sign when she got in November. I guess not :frowning:

Does anyone know if you are accepted with merit along with acceptance in the honors program if there would be additional merit coming?

Sorryā€¦YES their loss. ;(

The other merit scholarships you had to apply for ( Paul Tulane and some other ones I forgot the names) but they were due December 5th. Waiting on my financial aid package :((( I only got 16k in merit which was way lower than I expected because as of rn I cannot afford this school! Good luck!

Accepted OOS.
1520 SAT, 3.6 UW, 3.8 Weighted at most rigorous high school in the state, okay ECs, lots of demonstrated interest, National Merit Semifinalist, Community Service.

Not at all surprised that my daughter was deferred even though her stats are a lot higher of those that get in through ED. We knew going in that ED is easy, and no one from our high school got in after that. Tulane plays a game - free application = more applicants, then take as many through ED, and as few from regular rounds = very high yield. More applicants + few admitted = appearance of a highly selective school. They know what they are doing. If thatā€™s truly the school for you and money is not an object, need to ED. As long as they are not deceptive about it, not much is wrong with their plan. Please donā€™t take it personally. Most of the deferred here can go to more selective schools. Nothing personal, they want to keep their yield high.
