Why you think you were accepted/deferred/rejected: I showed interest and had great communication with my counselor, and I put a lot of effort into all of my college apps.
Where else you are applying or have already applied: IU-Bloomington (accepted), UT-Austin, UMich, UNC Chapel Hill

Approximately how long after applying EA does it usually take to receive a decision?

Guys a new thread should be created for the people who’ve been accepted (and eventually deferred). Hey, even Fallen Chemist thought that should happen!

Do you need to apply for a merit scholarship or is everyone considered? Are chances for getting one lower if you ED since they know you’re committed?

@saskey12 it varies for everyone! the only date that you’ll definitely know by is December 15 for ED or December 20 EA

He’d probably want this thread to continue and comments about him to be posted in the thread Jeff Schiffman started.

Here is the format… Remember to remove all spaces within the brackets

Has anyone gotten a decision from the portal?

nope :frowning:

update: my accepted status is showing online now! showed after mail came in i dont know if this will be the case for everyone

at https://apply.tulane.edu/apply/status?

@takeroftests yes, they send you an email letting you know an update has been made to your status and sends you to the portal through a link and then you click something that says “see update”

I just got my acceptance!

I just got my acceptance letter through the portal! I applied EA with a 3.85 unweighted GPA and 32 ACT. Accepted with $27,000 Distinguished Scholar Award. Roll Wave!

when did you apply? or when were all of your materials marked complete?
CONGRATS!!

Any ED people with scholarships yet? Or are they giving more of them to EA applicants because they want to entice them to go as opposed to ED people that will commit regardless of price?

Can you just check the portal without the link? I keep obsessively checking the portal.

[ul]
[]Strengths: I think my main essay really showed who I am in regards to my personality and goals for the future. My extracurriculars were also a plus for sure.
[
]Weaknesses: My personal statement was definitely weak. I didn’t really try. My extracurriculars also didn’t really relate to my planned major.
[]Why you think you were accepted/deferred/rejected: I really have no idea.
[
]Where else you are applying or have already applied: UT Austin (automatic acceptance), Rice University, University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill
[li]General Comments/Advice/Hindsight: I honestly just applied to see if I could get in. I’m happy that I did since it’s definitely up there on my safety list now. I’m hoping to get into Rice, but I’m definitely considering Tulane before UT and UNC because of the scholarship. For some advice, I definitely advise that all those considering Tulane should definitely work on the personal statement. My personal statement was pretty generic and I wish that I had put a bit more effort in it than I actually did, but I’m not disappointed with the end result. Cheers![/li][/ul]

Just got my acceptance!! EA and received Distinguished Scholars Award ($27,000 per year, $108,000 total over all 4-years)
