Maybe im too optimistic but doesnt it seem unlikely that the ONLY thing that goes to thousands of people on tuesday is deferrals and rejections?

I’m looking at the facebook page for admits and there’s around 1300 people on it right now. If every student who has been admitted joined the facebook page, and if you look at the info on collegedata com, which says around 6000 are admitted in early action, then around 20% of the early action admits have been notified. Probably somewhat more, considering not everyone who has been admitted has joined the facebook page. There’s plenty of room still!
I would think many of you will be deferred.
I just wanted to point out that the Facebook page is probably not a very good indicator of how many people still need to be notified. If you look at the Class of 2020 page, there are about 2000 people. Also, many people probably do not join the Facebook group unless they are pretty sure that they are going to attend. I’m not trying to be negative (I’m still hoping for good news too!) I just though I should share.
Just to further reassure a lot of you space will definitely open up for Tulane to accept more people. In addition to the Facebook group we also have a group chat for committed people with only about 430 people currently in it, and many people on facebook and the group chat got accepted into their Early Decision schools and have been leaving fairly quickly. So there is still hope and room for many!
Keep the faith, even if deferred next week. My daughter was a highly qualified EA applicant and showed a lot of interest but was deferred last year in December. She continued to show interest to the school and was notified of acceptance in February with a Premier Scholarship ($120K) and honors program invitation. Good luck!
@tj1711 That’s great to hear! Why do you think your daughter was deffered? Do you think your daughter’a application simply hadn’t been reviewed by the EA decision deadline? Also, what tips do you have for continuing to show interest?
@tem339 High stats (GPA/ACT) and likely concerns of Tulane being a back-up. She continued dialog with admissions counselor and clearly stated that it was her #1 choice and would attend if accepted. It is crazy with her stats that you have to prove you will really attend to be accepted, but she is loving Tulane her 1st semester and will be home tomorrow for break.

I’m worried and thinking i got rejected. Applied EA and haven’t heard back yet
It would make sense if they released tonight. I know that the deadline is tomorrow but the Monday releases have been sort of consistent.
