@syd24ranger yeah I didn’t get an interview either. My parents thought Tulane would be a for-sure target school…I dunno. The world works in mysterious ways
I am an international applicant living in America (for like most of my life) and my application status still hasn’t been updated and I haven’t gotten any mail either…I’m so nervous someone help!
It initially said my ACT was not sent in and this a few days past the deadline so I emailed them and they said it was their fault but it still shows it was received like a week later. Does that make a difference?
I️ have the same problem

Common app essay- 9/10
Why Tulane- 7/10 (it was last minute)
@canary101 That’s how Tulane thinks honestly. They think people very qualified think they will get in for sure so deferrals aren’t uncommon for those who haven’t visited campus or don’t seriously mention their interest by means of a college fair/visit or admissions rep.
Deferred lol… 36 act, 4.0 unweighted GPA, president of 3 clubs including president of service club, a ton of extra curricular and varsity sports and all that jazz, wrote the ‘why tulane’ essay and the other optional essays whatever they were. Letters of rec and common app essay were really good, not sure why I was deferred but ok… heard tulane defers people with certain profiles/standardized test scores because they think they’re being used as a ‘safety school’ and those applicants will go to ivies instead… not true in my case but alright
@livv13 what’s your weighted gpa?
@Pastpower but I went to the Tulane booth during a college fair and signed up for stuff and talked to the counselor there…oh well. rip. time to drown my sorrows in food and TV
Did anyone receive financial aid in their acceptance letter? I got my letter but nothing in there about FA and nothing online (out of state applicant if that changes anything)
@livv13 Lol that’s so true because I’m not actually aiming for ivies…too expensive and too rigorous for an undergrad school. Tulane was pretty high on my list…oh well. Godspeed to whatever other applications we have

Did everyone’s deferal say the same thing? I got deferred as well and I honestly might just withdraw my application, just seems like an awful lot of work and stress to go to such a big party school

Deferred!!! Pleasantly surprised since I just got a heartbreaking rejection from Boston College, so this definitely lifted my mood! Hoping for an acceptance in April!!! Also congrats to everyone accepted already and best of luck to everyone else who was deferred!!
Deferred with a 1460 SAT and a 3.67UW/4.23W GPA. Good luck, everyone!
I feel for everyone who was deferred but…you can be unhappy about deferral w/o saying that people got in more because of just ECs or demonstrated interest alone/that less qualified people were accepted. Lots of things do factor in to applications, yes, and it stinks that there were so many qualified applicants that some got deferred, but we all worked hard yknow not saying you can’t be upset, just don’t put others down
