THRILLED FOR THE OPPORTUNITY!
I don’t see this fall 2018 thing anywhere, is it in the “application status” page for early action—that shows all of the materials submitted etc, or…?
@Cof22mom @
Deferred…I’m confused why so many qualified people did not get in
3.90 UW gpa, 5.04 weighted
32 ACT, 33 Superscore
Many extracurriculars, some leadership
Lots of service hours
NHS
11 APs
@Lukifer2018 yeah I can’t find it on mine either. This whole process is so annoying. Hopefully they release them at least over the next couple days? The blog still says it’s possible to receive them any time in the next few days.
Was there anything for deferred students to say that they are still interested in Tulane? I thought that I saw someone say something about it, but I can’t find anything on my portal.
hey where’d you find the honors application?
Deferred with 4.0 GPA, 1470 sat (770 math), 800 chem subject test, 9 APs, tons of volunteering, ECs, and awards
Deffered and crushed . . . 34 act and 4gpa. I don’t understand where i went wrong. Hopefully the long months will lead to an acceptance, but I was really counting on merit money.
anyone know if i can potentially demonstrate interest in the honors college thru emailing reps (maybe writing some additional essays??) is it possible to get into honors even though i wasnt initially accepted?
Daughter accepted!!! Founders Scholarship of $20k/yr, SAT super score 1410, gpa 3.95, NHS, moderate EC, not sure about recommendations, visited and showed interest.
@Cof22mom I have tried finding this button everywhere on the portal but cannot see it. I assume it is only there for people who have been accepted. I will be calling the admissions office tomorrow morning, along with my counselor. I believe there must have been a mix up regarding when the CA sent my school report. My counselor supposedly cleared this with Tulane but there may be an issue. Hopefully I can get it resolved and get a decision soon.
@kkpita1 Any RD applicant who gets admitted can still get the same type of merit aid award as if they had been admitted EA. I recommend following the Dos and Donts guidance in Admissons Director Jeff Schiffman’s Tulane Admissons blog which he just posted today Dec 19, 2017. He has a lot of useful info for what you can do to show demonstrated interest and get admitted.
Anyone here get Spring Scholar offer? If so, we should start a groupme!!
Deffered but was accepted to UPenn ED. Im certain this was bc I didn’t write a why Tulane essay!!
Withdrew Tulane App immediately after decision.
Good luck everyone!
I was accepted with the distinguished scholar award of $30,000 a year and also invited into the honors program! White female, 34 act and 4.0 gpa, 3 sport athlete and had lots of other extra curriculars. So Excited!!!
@thejewtalian I am sorry you did not get accepted. I understand that you’re disappointed, but admissions does not base their decisions solely off of test scores. Some have had higher GPA and number of AP couses than you and not gotten in. Of course, you may have excellent ECs, but if you had an interview, they may have been put off by your pompous attitude. Maybe these “underqualified kids” you speak of have done great things and are much smarter than you think. Best of luck in your endeavours to join Tulane with the rest of the “underqualified.” Good luck and stay humble.
Deferred but pretty proud to even be considered for deferral!
Weird! Congrats on Notre Dame!!!
My S was deferred. 1400 SAT; 3.7 UW; 4.1W; 6 AP’s. Strong Why Tulane, visited, many EC’s. NJ
