I got Spring Admit. I had a 31 ACT, 3.9 weighted GPA, 2 AP classes, 9 honors classes. President of NHS, VP of Spanish NHS. Plethora of extracurriculars, leadership, work experience - the whole 9 yards. Visited campus, went 2 times to “Tulane Comes To You” and twice to meet with the admissions counselor at my school. I’m from Florida, (Near Miami). Only student from my school to ED.
No way.
I have a similar experience as yours. I am also from south florida ( near Fort Lauderdale). Like you I was the only person in my school to ED. Are you considering going for spring?
I was accepted for the fall term
UW gpa: 3.36
ACT: 31
Over 600 services hours, lots of leadership experience (youth group, honor societies, dance)
10 AP classes
Did an alum interview that went really well, strong why tulane? essay and had great teacher recs, visited campus
my gpa is lower so i was surprised but i had lots of other strong qualifications
@chappmom5 : yes, the Green Wave portal is updated. No change to Gibson
@DBB6599 Great news for you! Did your D send in a ZeeMee? Trying to see how much of a factor it may have been. It is all so new to everyone still.
30 act and 3.5 uw is exactly where i am and i got in ed fall 2018 so you should be fine
i was accepted to the preview tu fall fly in program a month ago and really got to know my admission counselors so this prolly helps
Anyone else get deferred decision? I’m wondering what my D chances are of any kind of acceptance. Sounds like applicants that they liked but couldn’t fit in Fall admission were offered Spring admission. I’m wondering if she has any chance for admit later on if they didn’t just offer her Spring. Honestly super confused- her stats are just as good if not better than some of the people admitted for Fall and Spring. She only visited once (we are in WA state) could that have made that much of a difference?
Got accepted as a Spring Scholar ED!
GPA(w): 2.46
SAT: 1290
Recommendations and essay were solid. Admission chances seemed slim, but I’m so happy I got in! I had some special circumstances I wrote about in my essay, however.
Hi, applied EA. Have a solid chance of getting in (offered full rides to comparable schools). Wanted to ask how to apply for the EA/ED scholarships… I’m having trouble locating them on Greewave… do you need to get accepted first before you can apply for these scholarships (Paul Tulane, etc.)? I only ask because the deadline is approaching and I keep getting emails to apply, but I can’t find the application online. Thanks, and congrats to everyone who was accepted!
Hi I can help! Log onto your greenwave portal and it will say enter your email address and password. Once you do, it will say “You have started 1 application using this account.” and display your fall 2018 early action one. Click “start new application”, and select which one you want. They are due December 5th. The questions for Paul Tulane and the others can be found on https://admission.tulane.edu/tuition-aid/merit-scholarships and then for Paul Tulane download the pdf with the questions. Good luck!
Thank you! Yes, I found the question pdf a while back, but didn’t know how to offically send it… Appreciate it
No; she decided that taking the advanced Modern class on campus this Fall was a stronger presentation. The head of the department was there and commented on her technique and they spoke and emailed. She had been to Bates Dance Festival for 2 years and clearly demonstrated strong commitment/many hours to dance. If she had not been able to get to campus, I imagine she would have created a zee mee page…good luck!
@DABTFL sorry that last post was for you
@DBB6599 Congratulations to your daughter! My son applied EA - Tulane website says notice on Jan 15th but we are hoping it is sooner. Good luck to all the applicants!
@trackmbe3 that’s not necessarily true about ED applicants. Tulane wasn’t necessarily a reach school for me, but it was my first choice because of the quality of the school and the fact that it gave me what I wanted and I got in for Fall of 2018
EA decisons are mailed on 12/17 and the portal will update on 12/20. Whichever you see first depending where you live- you could either receive the letter before 12/20 or not, but you’ll definitely know by 12/20!
Hi, I just wanted to post my stats to help anyone wondering about their chances for admission. I also haven’t been seeing a lot of acceptances for male students, so I thought I would post one. I was admitted ED on 11/30, merit/financial aid not posted yet. I go to a competitive all boys Catholic school in northern New Jersey. I was the only student to ED to Tulane from my school, but there were about 8 other students who applied EA (I don’t know if the others applying made a difference or not). The admissions counselor for my area also graduated from my high school.

(I was told my writing was very strong by teachers and counselors)
I visited campus once, last spring, and conversed with my admissions counselor through email before my visit.
I think my interview went well, although it was over the phone with a first year med student. The thing I found odd about my interview was that I had it on the same day they sent the ED letters out (11/27) so I’m not sure how much of an impact it had on my application.
I’m not sure about others, but I know Tulane is a popular school in my area. It’s been a few days now, and I’ve heard of 5 more acceptances from around here, all of them girls. The only 3 other schools I applied to were the University of Richmond, Fordham, and the University of Miami.
Hopefully this helps anyone who needs it.
@coolarubaboy thank you for posting! We’ve similar stats but I’m EA so I haven’t got my decision yet, this gives me a lil hope, I appreciate it.
