I applied to Tulane ED a few days ago, and I'm not going to lie, I'm pretty nervous. What are my chances?

GPA: 95.8% (private school, doesn't rank, unweighted)
ACT: 29 composite
EC's: Not Much. Opinions editor if Newspaper, been on it for all four years. Treasurer of German Club. I didn't really have time to do many EC's because I worked 30-40 hrs a week since sophomore year.

Oh and I also recieved the free personal application (where they waived the essay) without request, so does that mean my chances are increased?

If I don't get in to Tulane, what are my chances at the following schools (all EA)?

Pitzer
Case Western
Dickinson
Occidental
Gettysburg

My dad's a professor at Tulane, and I've had a lot of experience with the school. I'd say your def in, especially since they sent your a free app.

Why would you apply Tulane ED? You would be a great candidate EA, and they give money to EA admits. There is no incentive to give more than necessary financial aid to ED admits.

wow.... you guys are amazingly quick. I've never been on any kind of board ever with these kind of quick responses.

The reason I decided to apply ED as opposed to EA was because I have always wanted to go to Tulane (well, since high school started), and I figured I would was on the cusp of either acceptance or rejection. So I thought ED would give me a necessary boost. But do you guys think it probably wouldnt have mattered either way?

I wasnt? I thought that because my ACT (29) was one off their average and I lacked any cool EC's that I only had maybe a 55-45 shot. Have Tulane's standards gone down?

i understand your dad teaches there, you go for free, you like it, why the heck not apply ED even if you were a shoe in??? I agree with your decision and yea your def in.

I think you have a good chance at getting in, but I don't know about the Deans Honor Scholarship, you need to be in the 32< range plus have killer ECs.
I applied to Tulane, they sent me the free app, I have really great ECs(Vice Pres of SGA, 300+ of community service & much much more)and I have a 4.0 but my SAT is a 1820 & ACT is a 26 and I have had a lot of people tell me that Tulane is a reach... so what gives. Do they really rely that heavily on test scores?
No attack on you.. I was just surprized that you have got these answers...

i got the DHS, and when i was applying for colleges last year, my SAT composite was 2200 (M680, CR730, W790). And that year, they didn't even consider writing. I don't know that much about the ACT though. And trust me, my ECs were hardly 'killer'. It's most def. worth applying for...the payout is huge if you get it.
