Rejected this morning. 4.0/legacy/graduated from high school early. Sigh.
Ill let you know for sure when I commit. Definitely will need a roommate
Did you have a weird sounding letter when you were rejected?
On-campus housing is not available to transfer students. All transfer students will need to secure off-campus accommodations. That is what Tulane’s website says - my daughter was accepted also as a transfer and is trying to find a full year sublet or lease
I didn’t even see that on their website, I feel like all the good housing is going to be taken this late because most people sign their leases for their next year housing in december.
I applied like April 4th with a 3.96 gpa and got rejected today. ■■■, it must be numbers but still kinda hurts
What did your rejection letter say?
Idk the exact thing it was a pretty generic letter
Rejected - 4.0/ multiple legacy (entire family went there lol)
Are you a freshman or soph, when did you apply, and if a freshman what was your gpa
Same. I’m stunned. Perfect grades + legacy + hardest curriculum available was not enough?
Same as well, but I don’t feel bad because I heard the majority of the spots got taken in the early admission cycle. I just feel a little nervous because tulane was supposed to be a bit of a safety compared to other schools I am applying to like Vanderbilt and Rice.
Freshman. One thing is that I didn’t apply by February 1st, so I think they filled up w/ those applicants.
It’s wild, but I guess it is largely attributable to the space available and the weird admissions process lately (increasing applications). Good luck to everyone accepted or in applications elsewhere!
Me too- I applied to Vanderbilt and Rice as well.
Do you have any idea when we might hear back? Especially from rice because waiting until June is insane
I heard mid May for Vanderbilt and late May, early June for Rice.
That is one way to screw us out of housing
Yes lol - I think rice has guaranteed housing though. I am close to rice and their residential college system is great
Tulane is weird with admissions. It seems if you don’t apply for early admission they’ll reject you which is unfair bc you have really good stats
