Photo of Tulane Campus flooding:

Here's an AP photo of the northern tip of the Tulane Campus -- baseball field, tennis courts, etc. -- under water.

The photo was taken yesterday, Sept. 7 and appears in one of the Times-Picayune's photo galleries.

Interesting to see the photo. Love the photos that the Times Picayune publishes. They have been a life line. The area featured in the photo is of the back 1/3 of campus near Claiborne, which did take more water. I find it fascinating that how in aerial photos, 6" of water looks the same as 6'. I did see a Fox News Reporter this morning that said they had driven by the campus and that there were trees and limbs down everywhere but no water and the campus look great. By his description, I'm thinking the front part of the campus is dry and that the water seen here is not deep. There's another great group of pictures showing houses uptown.

Just saw Tulane students coming back to check their rooms on FOX news. They said there had been flood gates installed to keep water out, but they didn't work. It looked like the first floor rooms really got a lot of damage. Didn't see more.
