I had thought that the Tulane football games were free for the students. My D told me that some are free but for others there is a fee. Does anyone know where I can find the student schedule and student cost. Online I read that it is free but there are some "premium" games where there is a charge. Thanks

I just talked to the ticket office and they assured me that all sporting events are free for Tulane students, that there is never a premium or additional charge. The student just has to have their Splash Card. I think I read somewhere that there were premium games for non-Tulane people in the past, not sure if that is still the case.

So bottom line, I think your D misread something somewhere.

This is where I read about the “premium” games. I will re-check with my D. She said there were given a schedule. Games that were bold on the schedule had a fee.

Student Ticket Information
All Tulane students are admitted at no charge to all athletic events.* In order to gain admittance to these events, please follow the below procedures.

Football: Students season tickets are distributed during the registration process at the Lavin-Bernick Center (LBC). Tickets will be issued upon presentation of a valid student ID. Individual tickets are available for each game at Superdome Gate G. A valid student ID is required in order to pick up tickets at the game.
Men’s & Women’s Basketball, Volleyball and Baseball: Students are admitted to these events upon presentation of a valid student ID at the entry gate.

*There are some “premium” athletic events that require an admission fee.

I can’t imagine what those events would be! Maybe back when we played LSU there would have been a very high demand for tickets, since a lot of locals support LSU. But we no longer do, and that is just a guess anyway. The only other thing I could guess is that they are “hedging their bets” in case Tulane makes the postseason and has a home game, which would probably only apply to basketball. The NIT plays the non-final rounds at home courts. I know who to write to about this, so I’ll find out for sure. I think it was probably a student worker I talked to this morning.

Got a fantastically prompt reply. And my guess about post-season activity was correct.

Wow, super fast, thanks FC…
That put that rumor or misunderstanding to rest! Good to know, I will pass it on. Thanks again.
