Tulane Legacy Question

Does it help in admissions if you are a legacy?

I think it helps a little, but it probably is not a huge factor these days. Being realistic, if your family has contributed steadily to Tulane over the years, maybe it helps more. I don’t know that for a fact, and I know it sounds crass and non-ivory tower and all that. But it takes a lot of money to keep the doors open at any school, and I have to think that it is at least a bit of a factor. But different schools probably weight this differently, from almost not at all to a fair amount. I don’t know where Tulane falls on that scale.
