Hello eveyone, i got a scolarship for both tulane and smu cox school.
And i was also thinking about asking to boston college.
I want to study economy, finance. What you think will be the best choice?also thinking about a future work.
Thank u in advance for your answers ;)

I live about a block away from SMU and I can tell you the social life there revolves around the greek life. It’s a very wealthy, southern, conservative school that parties a lot but it is also pretty good academically.

Also people often say that SMU is only good for getting jobs in Dallas. It’s definitely not a school for everyone

What are the cost differences between the three.

Thank yoh for answering. The cost would not be a problem cause i would have a full scholarship for them all. I’m most concerned about a job after college, which one do you think will be better for that?

I’d say Tulane, because not only is it known in the south, it’s also known in the northeast. If you want to work on the west coast though, then neither would be very good

Well BC would for sure be the best. But then I’d say Tulane for the same reason as theconnoisseur. I live in the Northeast and have never even heard of SMU outside CC. (I even had to google what SMU stood for).

SMU I would assume is known around wealthier circles in the south. Pretty well known in Texas, at least by older people who lived through south west conference. BC is definitely the best

If you have a full ride for BC it is the best option imo.

BC would be my first choice followed by Tulane and then SMU.

If one looks at rankings, BC is slightly better ranked than Tulane and SMU (30s vs 50s) but it might also be important to compare the programs in finance and economics. The differences might not be that great, especially when adding a regional dimension.

All in all, it might come to a choice between different qualities of life. The Northeast versus and very pleasant QOL in Dallas and the laissez-faire attitude in NOLA. Then there is the weather! Those are, obviously, very personal choices. The other component to evaluate is the importance of Greek life. For some Greek means a positive. For others … not that much.
