The two schools appear very similar in terms of academic profile. Obviously there is a great difference between New Orleans and Winston-Salem. So that’s a matter of taste.

I think I can only repeat what I said on the thread that asked about Villanova vs. Tulane. You can only go with your instincts, because these three schools have a lot of similarities in terms of academics and size. You need to focus on the differences (Sports, location, things like that) and your feeling being at each once you visit Wake. I cannot think of any thing that jumps out otherwise to help you make this decision.

Wake Forest was my S’s #1 choice last year. He is now a Freshman @ Tulane and absolutely loves it. Both are great schools. Biggest complaint about Wake that I’ve heard is that there is not much to do off campus. Tulane – there is probably too much to do off campus (haha, only joking). Since academics are pretty much equal, it comes down to where you would like to live for the next 4 years. Other Factors: if you are really into March Madness though, then Wake is for you. But having been in NOLA over Super Bowl weekend, I would choose Tulane over Wake anytime.

Just FYI to the above…Tulane is the host school for the NCAA Final Four to be held in New Orleans (Superdome) in 2012…I believe the Super Bowl will be held in NOLA as well in 2013…so if you like sports, turns out Tulane may actually be a GREAT choice!

I would also say that Wake is more conservative and “preppy” than Tulane, with a larger Greek presence. If you happen to be Jewish (as we are), you will find yourself in the significant minority at Wake (maybe 2%). TU has a large Jewish population (approx 28%).
