@swimmerfish I got an interview!!!
anyone else get an interview?
My daughter is a junior and she is trying to go through the list of colleges offering BS/MD. Tulaneās TAP-TP and TPM are bit confusing. Can the students apply to both? They have not given more details about TPM anywhere. They only talk about TPM. Can someone please give me more details about the program?
I was just reading about this program (I donāt have a student at Tulane) and it is by invitation only. You canāt specifically apply for it.
The TPM Coordinator said applicants invited to apply have 3.8+ unweighted GPA and 35+ ACT (or equivalent SAT). TPM accepts ~a dozen applicants. Itās a conditional acceptance to Tulane SOM. TAP-TP is an Early Acceptance Program. TAP-TP application is availabe in May (HS senior year), but youād have to enroll at Tulane when the interview happens during the first couple of weeks in the fall semester freshman year.
Does anyone know if a student is invited to interview for TPM, will the interview be the same weekend the student is registered for the honors weekend?
Yes, it said it somewhere
Does anyone know approximately how many people get the invitation to apply, how many people get an interview, and how many people are accepted to the program?
Iām currently a student in the program (class of 2023), they invited around 70 something people. My class has only 9 students in it, as well as the grade above me (class of 2022) @hboieuarqle
Has anyone heard about an interview yet for this year? It said we would hear within two weeks of the deadline so we should hear by the end of today if thatās accurate.
@chenlinong do you mean they invite 70 people to apply or do they actually interview 70 students for approximately 9 spots? I am curious how many are invited to interview.
AC replied on Feb 14th that they are still reviewing PTM applications and will release decisions around February 28th
Has anyone gotten any word from Tulane on PTM yet??

Tulane Pathway to Medicine 2024
@happydash13 I received an email confirming advancement to interview stage, but others received a different email - it seems that they have sent out interview notifications to some applicants but have told others that decisions will come out in 3 weeks. Did you not get an email at all?
@ccEBD123 I got the one that said Iād get my decision in 3 weeks. I wonder if thatās bc they want to wait to see if we commit? Do you know if the people that received interviews already committed?
we got same letter - decision in 3 weeks, but daughter had committed already. I think itās a deferral kind of. They will interview people on the first honors weekend and then see if they have enough candidates.
@happydash13 I havenāt committed to Tulane yet, but I still received an invitation to interview.
@ccEBD123 If you donāt mind, would you share some stats/ECs?
Sure!
Here are just a few general stats/ECs (I havenāt included everything for the sake of brevity):

Volunteering:

- Have volunteered for hundreds of hours for various organizations, particularly at the local food pantry as well as for various community events
Clinical Experience/Shadowing:
- Clinical observation and physician shadowing at a large hospital (nearly 200 hours), also engaged in patient education initiatives
- Research project analyzing pre-operative testing for anesthesia purposes, developed a set of best-practice guidelines that was published for nationwide use in an anesthesia provider groupās annual guidebook
- International clinical internship at an eye hospital in India, observed eye surgery and clinic, as well as created a video in the native language educating people about eye surgery (for the illiterate population)

I think my biggest drawbacks are my GPA and number of APs (which are closely connected), but hopefully my ECs/volunteering and clinical experience make up for those.
