<p>Tulane has announced the plans for its spring term - starting on the same date as originally planned. There will be Freshman Orientation and among the more exciting developments, a "lagniappe" or bonus term running from mid-May to end of June. This term will be free for those who have paid regular fall and spring tuition - whether they attended a host institution or not. It will allow students who did not do a full (or any) fall semester to catch up, it will allow others to "get ahead" so as to take a lighter load in the future or this spring (especially if they need extra time this spring to resolve issues caused by Katrina or to help with rebuilding efforts). This bonus term is optional.</p>
