Perfect. Always. When it gets below 60, people get bundled up because that's freeeeeeezing.

Just my personal opinion, take it for what you will:
As for snobby, there are a lot of rich people here. A LOT. Though it's not as bad as some of the Ivies (I was at Brown in the fall) there can be a little snobbery - and a lot of jappy girls.
As for nerdy, the honors kids (or at least the kids in the honors dorm [Butler]) are pretty dorky/lack social skills, but it's like that at all colleges.
As for nice, I don't think I've met one "mean" person since I've been here. It's a Southern thing, I guess :)
As for cliquey, I'm not really sure. I'm on a sports team here, so I'm usually with most of those guys and at Bruff (the dining hall) usually the football/track/basketball guys sit on one side and everyone else sits on the other. That's really the only clique I'm aware of, but, once again, it's like that at all schools.

3. What would be the average class size?

This I'm not entirely sure of, all my classes are fairly small and professors all know my name, but I'm not taking any lecture hall classes or any intro classes, so I can't answer that for ya.

4. Lastly, i heard that tulane is also known as "jewlane" about what % of the student body is jewish? i was just wondering becuz if its a skool is called a "jewlane" it must have alot lol

Yeah, there are quite a bit of Jewish students here. I thought I heard it was around 33%, but I guess it's even higher because many who don't fill out their religion on the application are actually Jewish as well (I've heard it might be as high as 40%).

WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES THE RELIGION MAKE? In the scheme of things we think about in schools, that one never entered my mind. I mentioned this one to my Mom who is a Tulane alum and she said it was called that back in the day too and she says it meant squat. Focus on the important stuff in this process and if religion is your issue then go for a school that has some religiousnes in their history. In the meantime look at the big picture and more important criteria..............

I'm from jersey also. The weather here is gorgeous. Its always above 55 which is shorts weather where we are from. I live in Butler and while there are some 'socially inept', there are also many of us who aren't. I've found that being here in Butler is more down to earth since everyone here is on scholarship and couldn't pay full weight to go here. Classes even at the intro level are pretty small, I don't have a single class larger than 30.

froshtobe, READ THE QUESTION SLOWLY
4. Lastly, i heard that tulane is also known as "jewlane" about what % of the student body is jewish? >>>>>I WAS JUST WONDERING<<<<<< becuz if its a skool is called a "jewlane" it must have alot lol

As for others that replied Ecliptica and Vinin thank you!

Most of the Butler kids aren't that bad...I am one, I promise, I'd tell you if I was a total social reject haha. Butler actually has really good community and is a lot more low key as Vinin says. And we know how to have fun, too:-)

How is the weather in New Orleans?

Damn good... even on the really humid days, you're gonna have A/C.

Laid-back, though I was only there for a summer.

What would be the average class size?

summer classes were pretty small... no idea about school year ones.

um the official statistics are about 33% (go to hillel.org) but I'm sure there are more non-practicing jewish people... but that difference does that make?
