Hi! did anyone else hear back from Tulane? I just got in a few l days ago so i was wondering if anyone was looking to transfer there in the fall
My teen just got in today as a transfer.
I also got in on the 28th!
I haven’t heard back yet, I hope that isn’t a bad sign!
What was your stats? I applied for transfer too!
@northernting22 I had a 3.35 college GPA from a good private school, my SAT scores were very low I only got a 1280 on those but a but I still got a merit scholarship so it just shows they only care about college grades really. hs GPA was 3.6 and I was top 25% of my class. also visited/showed interest so I think that helped.
good luck!
I got in!!
When did you submit your application?
Feb 21 @Mandiland328
Admitted!
anyone thinking about going, im really considering it!
Admitted today!
I got rejected yesterday. I most likely will choose to go to NC State which for my major, CS, is actually a better choice.
Sharing my status for future references (I’m non-traditional tho):
Background: 29 yrs international, female, Asian (non-traditional transfer)
Applied Major: Computer Science
GPA: 4.0 from NC community college

*I will not use my credits from China!
SAT: 1450
SAT Math Subject: 780; SAT Physics: 760

In China(again, that was about 6-10 yrs ago): Full-time employee as health specialist; student research assistant; lab assistant; publication (3rd co-author); SGA; student leader reward; Honor graduate student leader; college athlete(state competition 2nd place for martial arts); school soccer club; internship.
I submitted my transfer application in mid march and haven’t heard anything. Has anyone else gotten word?
haven’t heard back either I should have applied earlier ;(
Tulane received my application on March 9th, and I was accepted on March 26th. But, they are taking a lot of time on processing financial aid and transfer credits, so I’m still waiting for those to update.
Been frequenting this thread like a fiend since I sent in my application, so figured I’d throw in my update.
Every part of my application was received by March 27th at the latest. I got my decision May 2nd.
Accepted with a 10k scholarship! I still kind of can’t believe it.
STATS:
For reference, I’m transferring after one full year of undergrad.
College GPA: 4.0 from a public state university (not well known or esteemed). I was an undecided major, so the A’s were mostly in general education classes.
HS GPA: 3.73/4.0 weighted. 3 APs and a decent amount of ACPs and honors. Top 1/3 of class. Pretty weak sophomore year (a D or two…) but stronger junior and senior year.
APs: Human Geography (3), English Lang (5), and English Lit (5)
ACT: 35 on the February 2019 test. Never took the SAT.
Extracurriculars: Research job on campus, part of 3 organizations on campus (no leadership roles or anything), highlights of my high school extracurriculars (leadership roles in choir, theatre, speech team, drama club, etc, and some volunteer work)
Rec: Got a letter of recommendation from my philosophy professor who loved me for some reason. They’re not required but I figured it wouldn’t hurt!
Essays: Did both essays – the personal statement and optional Why Tulane. I went to a writing tutor for both and had them both proofread by 3 other people before submitting. For my personal statement, I wrote about a specific experience I had on a mission trip (yawn, I know), but it was about the importance of human connection which complemented my intended communications major. For Why Tulane, I touched on the parts of my current institution that aren’t the best fit for me and compared them with the parts of Tulane that would be a better fit. I covered academics, service, community, and the flexible degree program. Also mentioned that Tulane had been my dream school since eighth grade. Don’t know if that’s worth anything, but hey, I got the yes.
Best of luck to everyone applying! Roll (and I cannot express this enough) WAVE!
I was admitted as a transfer today! I sent in my application on April 14th. I figured I would post on here to remind people that anything can happen.
