Hey! So I’m a second year student at a reputable community college in upstate New York interested in transferring to Tulane University as a junior this upcoming year.
I have about 55 credits under my belt thus far and maintain a ~3.35 GPA, which will be higher once final grades from this semester have been submitted.
I have a TON of extracurriculars (volunteering/sports/jobs/internship) and a pretty excellent essay, which mentioned that I had a brain tumor so maybe that’ll strike some sympathy in admissions counselors? Haha.
My SAT scores we’re not the best but not the worst either, 1880/2400.
My high school GPA wasn’t great, but I talked to an admissions counselor who said that since I’ve been out of high school for a significant amount of time (graduated 2 years ago), they will weigh their decision more heavily on my collegiate courses instead.
I hear people from upper states such as New York tend to have an easier time getting into universities down south? Not sure how true that is, but anyway just wanted to see what my chances would be of getting into Tulane.
