Help! I just still can't decide. I like factors of both schools, and money will be about the same after financial awards. I am leaning toward Tulane (mainly because it's not an All Male school). I'd like to see what you guys have to say about each school and what you'd do in this situation :)

tulane is a top 50 research university, definitly go there

Wow, two such unique places.

Wabash has a strong commitment to undergraduate education--not just because it's an LAC, but they've also funded some research projects there dealing with student engagement, student learning, and so on--which have gotten national attention in the higher education community. It is not as well known as Tulane, although it is certainly distinctive.

Many more people here are familiar with Tulane, so I'll leave it to others to talk about its merits. I will say that Tulane would be appealing to me right now because of the chance to be a part of something amazing (coming back after such devastation). I would guess there is a lot of pride and camaraderie there right now. On the other hand, I sure wouldn't want to get a serious medical problem in New Orleans (although, admittedly, few would make a final college choice based on access to a level 1 trauma center :)).

Hi. I do not live in the USA and was wondering in what shape is Tulane at the moment due to the terrible huricane that hit New Orleans? Has the campus been damaged? If so, have they fixed it? Has the academic rep of the uni been afected?

I visited in April and I have to say the area around Tulane was fantastic. The campus looked great and the town was bustling. I have heard that it feels like the storm never happened and that it is only once you leave the Tulane bubble and go to 9th ward that you see true destruction. I think the academic rep is the same and will only get stronger because Tulane and their students have so much ahead of them.

I agree, I would go to Tulane.

Thanks everyone for your input. I think I had already decided on Tulane in the back of my mind, I just wanted some sort of affirmation.

Ah, the only downside is distance. Although not so much of a downside as some people would like to think, I will love to get away from here.
