I'm an ED applicant who was deferred and then wait listed today :/

If you were also wait listed, please list your stats. Also, if you know anything about the Tulane wait list, or anyone who has had any experience with it, please post their stats and final decision.

1360 SAT (700 M, 660 V)
2.72 UW GPA (this is definitely the reason why I didn't get in. However, I thought I still had a small chance because I go to a private school and we have a lot of grade deflation, and I had a 3.2 junior year and a 3.1 the first term of my senior year and that went on my transcript.)
I'm also a Hispanic male (I did mention in my essay that I am only half though.)

1230 (630 V, 600 M), 680 writing SAT II, 540 bio SAT II
3.4 UW, 3.8 W
Very competitve high school
Good ECS
Good essays
Several honors, but no AP courses although many offered at school
School doesn't rank
Kept in constant touch with Tulane, met with New England admissions officer at my school
Wrote 4 page letter after being deferred, explaining why I wanted to go/should go to Tulane

hey, igot waitlisted yesterday
1250 sat (660 V, 590 M) lots of aps, but low average for tulane- 88, good ec's, good recomendations, good essay, like MGene22 my school doesn't rank and is a competitive public school. i'm also a hispanic female, dont think that hels at tulane, but it basically got me into lehigh and maybe if i'm really lucky, bucknell too.
anyway i would have been dissapointed but i recently decided that i dont think tulane is a good fit for me, plus i hate humidity.
good luck to everyone else on the waiting list!

SAT 1240 630V 610M, gpa uw 3.7, gpa w 5.5/6.9, top 30% of class, good recs and essay, girl ice hockey player, spanish club, deca finalist, exchange program, business academy, etc. dont know why i was waitlisted but I told them to take me off. i already got accepted to my state school so if my #1 school (i find out today) rejects me, i would go there instead of tulane because of the money. so if they do take a lot of ppl off the waitlist, atleast i am one less person waiting on it.

**** Tulane. , * , *, *. Oh Well, Ga Tech Baby. *** Tulane. But Ne Ways, Waitlisted 1210 Sat And 3.38 Uw Gpa 3.83w Gpa. I Am African American. Oh And..................

waitlisted...i am ****ed cuz i realized i only applied for the business school...if i had just applied regular i think i would have had a better shot of getting in. 1280 sats 650 math, 640 verbal. sat 2's writing 700, us history 700. gpa- 4.25 top 15 percent...good recs and extracurriculars...i found out by email then got it in the mail a few days ago. oh well, i wouldnt have gone there anyways, no point in staying on the waitlist.

I love how tulane waitlisted the students they knew were good but had 1200 SATs. (In case you didn't realize this before- TULANE ONLY CARES ABOUT SATS!)

660V 530M (i shouldve studied, i got cocky)
3.5 in the US
86 - Canada
Class Rank - 26/410 (major grade deflation in the great white north)
Exceptional Essay

Its safe to say I have no chance of getting in...I called the other day and the guy told me they put nearly 3000 kids on the waitlist and at the most choose 50-100...thats insane....they only have a waitlist because they like applicants and feel bad for out-right rejecting them...it helps the adcoms sleep better at night

Anyone hear anything about how many Tulane are accepting off of the waitlist? I'm hoping to hear soon, does their yeild look pretty good this year? Thank you all for your help.

aca0260, those are interesting numbers you quoted. It's the first time I have heard them concerning Tulane. I have found waitlist information to be the hardest info to locate for most schools. Often, the only info I have came from other posters on cc. I know that other schools have big waitlists as well, such as WUSTL. Doesn't take the sting out of if for you, I know. I wish you the best of luck. Let us know which school you picked.

Sorry to be answering a post so late, but I was swamped when you made your post.

I was reading in one of those princeton review 365 best college books from 2004 saying that Tulane accpeted 124% of the people on the waitlist, yes 124%. How did princetonreview get that number, and do any of you know waht the real number is? thanks alot!
