Tulane's Acceptance Rate?

As recent as last week, the college board's website said that Tulane had a 38% admit rate. Now it all of a sudden says that it has a 44% admit rate. So what is Tulane's actual acceptance rate and why would the college board change it all of a sudden? Just thought it was kind of weird.

and supposedly Tulane has experienced I think it was a 62% increase in application this year....which would lower their acceptance rate...not raise it...

Who knows...

The 44% would have been for the class entering in 2007; the 38% for the class entering in 2006 - it takes the College Board a while to get all the figures for all the participating institutions. If the 62% increase in applications holds up, that would put total apps in the 30,000+ range (up from slightly less than 20,000 last year); assuming the yield rate is the same as last year to get the 1400 or so incoming freshman, this year's acceptance rate would be in the 20% to 25% range.

According to Pres. Cowan, there were about 33,700 applications this year!
