Tunxis Community College vs. Manchester Community College?

Hi, I am new to the central Connecticut area and need help choosing between Tunxis Community College and Manchester Community College. My major will be Computer Science and I am hoping to transfer to UCONN.

Tunxis is half the size of Manchester and is in a better neighboorhood. Manchester offers a more rigorous program. I do not know how the professors or classes are at either school.

Anyone happen to be from the area and have any thoughts on these schools?

I would love to hear all feedback. Thanks!

Which school is closer to you? Which school is cheaper? As long as you do well, you should be able to transfer to UConn from either CC. Personally, I have met a decent amount of people who have successfully transferred to UConn from Manchester Community College.

Hi! I am currently transferring to UConn this fall! I am graduating from Tunxis Community College. Tunxis is a great school! They offer a GAP program with UConn for business majors or liberal arts students. I personally love the professors. They push you as hard as they can to make you work. I know people now who are at UConn that went to Tunxis first and they are doing well. I’m sorry this is such a late reply too.

terps1 you can’t go wrong with either one. I would pick depending on which side of the river you are on. I would avoid Capital Community College and Goodwin. Tunxis and MCC are both great.
