Turing Scholar of UT Austin Vs James Hons of UIUC

Got James Scholar honors program in the College of Engineering
(Computer Science) in UIUC.
I got Turing Scholars Programme also in UT Austin.
UT Austin's program appears to be good when financial aid,
separate accomodation and all other factors taken
into consideration. I am an International student.
Dear Parents: : please guide me which one is good?

UIUC’s computer science program is generally in the “top 10 in the nation” lists (among MIT, Carnegie Mellon, Wisconsin, Berkeley, Stanford, etc.

I have not seen UT Austin on a top ten list but it may be a perfectly good program and if they offer sufficient financial aid, may be the best program for you.

Thank you. In computer science rankings UIUC is 5th and
UT Austin 9th. However it seems most of the students are
getting admissions from top 5 or 6 schools in Ph.D direct.
Turing scholars are getting various types of financial benefits.
UIUC will not give any assistance to Internationals.
Have to go to Austin.

I don’t know if this will financially benefit you, but UIUC recently was given a $100M dollar donation to the Engineering College, and one of the purposes is to increase aid/scholarships for students.
