so assuming i get into usc (keeping fingers crossed... im a transfer student and havent received notice yet) would it be crazy to turn down usc to go to pepperdine? I want to get into advertising... but usc only has a minor in the field and pepperdine offers a major. I dont even know how good the advertising program is at both schools, so any information would be appreciated... THANKS!

hey i got accepted to pepperdine today, still waiting on SC... lemme know what youre gonna do! btw i applied as a freshman for next year.

Um... I think you are crazy to turn down USC for any school! I'm almost not even kidding - Ivies aside (and maybe even some of those... see another thread for that discussion), I would turn down nearly every school... (I turned down Hopkins-BME for USC-BME... if you want an example)...

USC has a major in marketing. It is an emphasis at the business school.

Just a question here: how does a Pepperdine marketing person deal with the ads? I mean this is a very conservative school you are discussing? I am kinda wondering how the real world works after you spend time at P?

thats true... i guess i should wait until the decision even comes out for me... i just got off the phone with them and the guy said the bulk of decisions wont come out until the first week of june... too bad i have to let pepperdine know by may1... man it sucks being a transfer! ahhahahaha

I think it would be crazy if you went to Pepperdine over USC... even on the rankings, Pepperdine is such a low rated school.

I think it matters on you. I am in a similar situation. I got accepted at my top three and they all offer something I really like. If you want a small school, Pepperdine might fit you better. If you are looking for a more challenging coursework, USC would be your choice. I don't think I can give accurate advice because the choice comes down to where you will be the happiest.
