Turn of events. Looking for Engineering schools

Erin’s Dad: Thank you. I know that my GPA is… Eh. I’m not proud of it myself, but what can I do haha. My school does not rank though. Also, I’ve had consistent health problems since freshman year and ongoing now and I believe it’s taken a considerable toll on my performance… Not sure if I should tell colleges though in fear that they’ll view it as an excuse, but I’m being truthful… But anyway, yep, I’m a first gen american but definitely not first gen college.

To provide more info about my courses, I’ve been in accelerated science since freshman year. I took honors courses in history freshman and soph year then regular after that (history was NEVER my strength). Been in accelerated courses in english besides soph year (fresh H, reg soph, APs junior and senior). My school only offers 11 APs in the core subjects and I only took 4 as of this year. (English Lang, Lit, Calc, Bio.)

Overall, my grades range from 85-94. What’s bad about my transcript and for engineering schools as well is that i was pretty terrible at math and chem freshman year (both accelerated, but baaaad idea diving into those that year). Chem brought my overall grade down the most, but that was before I realized i wanted to go into engineering, thus my late start. (Sadly… The worst hits to my average are Chem and AP bio. >_>)

Georgia Girl: Yeah, my passion in engineering came into action kind of late in high school. I didn’t mention it in the post, but in school, besides the science club, I’m in the science team for competitions, participate in a research group, take part in organizing and hosting the science events, and now I’m seeing if I can go into peer tutoring for Physics (my favorite subject, but I’ll have to sharpen my skills haha.)

Honestly, I plan on dropping music in college besides piano. (Not sure how I’m going to do that… maybe take lessons then.)

Also, I think my unweighted average is an 86/100. (Ugh… Chem.)

And also, I fence foil.
