UCLA all the way!

i traded cal, my friends, and pretty much everything i ever knew...
to go to johns hopkins

on the sole reason that i want to become a doctor

do you plan on studying day and night at JHU?

If you do and suceed, then you'll be a great doctor :)

No need to hate on the music department- it's fairly small, but the people seem to care. My prof is amazing.

I have always wondered...is it "drab" or "Dr. ab"?

CalX, you're wrong. USC has much much better music and drama. Cinema's a given. CAL music isn't bad, but it certainly isn't comparable to USC's. Seriously, USC has tons of Grammy winners, and really top-of-the-line professors. You can't get much better at a University.

Dee rab. D-Rab. DRab. D*R*ab.

So, make up your mind... which is it?? :)

Neither. :)

It's just pronounced dee rab.

***, why in the world would someone choose the University of Second Choice over Cal? USC is a rather low caliber school and almost everybody gets in. I think over 100 kids from my school got into U$C this year.

Everyone is entitled to their own choice. Prestige isn't everything. It depends on an individual's personality.

No need to so harshly rag on a school whose football team is going to get killed by Cal next year! :)

"dee rab" makes no sense.

I'm going to assume you meant "Dr. ab".

Haha no, I meant that it's pronounced "d" then "rab."

And ab_med, USC is not easy to get into anymore, at least inside of California, may your school is just good. Look at their average stats and what not. And bernelen, you're right, everyone is entitled to their own choice, but Cal is better than USC for more than just that!:)

Just kidding, but nobody brougth up prestige. And Lainart was the most overrated quarterback of alltime- without an offensive line of the quality he had, he would have been toast.

berenelen, LOL! except not. and ab_med, USC is a low caliber school? ***? What planet are you living on? ALso, everybody does not get in. As a matter of fact, the accpetance rate was 24% this year. I know CAL's was lower, but still. Damn, you livin' in a hole brother!

Well, yeah, but just as much of a hole as those who don't acknowledge the history and reputation of USC.

Living in a hole? I wouldn't call CAL a "hole!" I am really familiar with USC and the buildings, dorms, dining, off campus area are better than USC!

Ab_med: The nickname for USC is the University of Spoiled Children, rather than "Second Choice.";) On the same line, USC is somewhat competitive to get into, although from what I've heard , its reputation is not the best barring certain departments.

CA2006, I'm surpirsed that you claim you are "really famialr with USC". If you really were, your facts would correct. I wouldn't CAL a hole either, and I never talked about the campus, we were strictly talking about academics and the programs offered by both schools... Both CAL and USC have their stronger points, and I'm just trying to explain the reasons for a student turning down CAL for USC. In fact, I even turned down better schools than CAL in order to got o USC.

NeedAdvice, i have heard both nicknames used. But i am still amazed at how someone would chose USC over Cal. I believe 5 or 6 of the girls on the varsity cheer team got in to SC and our cheer team is made up of REALLY dumb girls

haha, ok fine. I am from Colorado, and a bunch of "dumb" girls from my high school got into USC and are currently there.
