Turning down Berkeley for...

I just read an interview with Rivers Cuomo and I guess he originally wanted to come to Berkeley for school, but then, after he had applied and gotten in, he found out that he got accepted to Harvard. So there's one more Harvard/Berkeley cross admit battle that we lost. Its too bad. It would've been cool having him here.

I turned down Berkeley for William and Mary

I wouldn't have turned Berkeley down for William, but for Mary, perhaps. :)

UCLA definitely!!!

"D turned down CAL and UCLA for USC. The second she stepped on campus, the other two didn't have a chance. And, as for academics, I wouldn't be knocking any school. How successful you are depends on what you put into your academics, not where you go to college!

FIGHT ON!

I am going to Davis for biomedical engineering with premed with a regents and special honors program over Berkeley Bioengineering. I origionally got in for Spring but I appealed and was admitted Fall admission but by the time they granted me Fall Admission I had decided to go to Davis. If Berkeley had origionally let me in Fall I probably would have just gone to Berkeley but luckily Cal's decision to origionally give me fall made me look deeper into my situation and make what I think is the better decision.

I turned out all the UCs except Cal. I would have gone to LA if my brothers went somewhere else.

Now that you mention it, I'm curious...I know that the ivy league schools have a bunch of rich & famous people attending, so do you guys know of any famous people that attend Berkeley right now?

"so do you guys know of any famous people that attend Berkeley right now?"

Very C list type of people. Nothing like Natalie Portman or the Olsen Twins. There's the skie Johnny Mosely, who was famous for a second a couple of years ago. Some kid from Lizzie Mcguire goes here, but since I'm not a twelve year old girl I probably couldn't pick him out of a line up. There are some semi famous sports people, but thats about it. The famous people here are the professors.

^ I just did a quick google search out of my own curiosity, lol. Adam Lamberg (who plays 'Gordo' on Lizzie McGuire) is a senior at Cal currently.

turned down UCB for UCLA.

Turned down Berkeley (Haas) for Cornell (ILR)..Still don't know if I've made a right move..T_T It was a EXTREMELY hard decision!!!!....my friends think I'm CRAZY! Anyway I chose Cornell over Cal for better campus, environment and money (since I'm an international student so I'm paying a similar amount for both Public and Private).

well...the plus side for you timmy is Cornell has better dorm food...

haha twilightzer0, you are right! Much better food....

I'll do this for 2 of my friends:
one for UT-Dallas and another for UT-Austin, chemistry and engineering majors, respectively

Two laaaaame friends. ;)

I wish I could say that, but they had to turn them down for financial reasons~I almost feel like crying for them.

Bah, that sucks for your two friends.

And Cornell food cannot hold a candle to Berkeley's off campus food. I haven't eaten Cornell's dorm food, but it has a reputation for being good. Berkeley's is pretty good and improving.

That makes sense, being OOS and all.

I hear Cornell's food is amazing, and healthy too. I don't know how it holds up against Berkeley's off campus food. I hear food at Foothill has been getting better though.

Berkeley's food would demolish, destroy, crush and obliterate Cornell's. Absolutely no contest.
