Turning the 4-1 program into 3-1

I've read about the 4-1 program at Columbia where you can get a degree from SEAS in four years and a degree from the college if you stay an extra year. I was wondering if it was possible to take more classes per semester so I could get a degree from SEAS in three years, and then get a degree from the college in one year. The majors I am looking into are Applied Math (from SEAS) and Econ (from the College)

Thanks.

It's possible but very hard to do. You'll need to come in with some AP credit and take heavy loads very semester. And you'll also need some luck because some courses may just overlap and make scheduling impossible.

Remember, you'll need to take both the CC core and the SEAS core in addition to all the major requirements.

Good to know that it's possible. I have a bunch of AP credits, and have received a 4 on an AP language test, so I don't need to fulfill the language requirement.

And it depends on the majors. Some of the SEAS majors have a lot more requirements than others...Biomed and Financial come to mind.
