I need to get to the thrift store ASAP. I hear the closest one is near Walmart, although if you know of a closer one or one that I can get to by using the Sunday shopping shuttle, that would be really helpful. The only way that I can get to the thrift store near Walmart is by using the Tuscaloosa Trolley. Does anyone here have experience using this service? Is it convenient and timely? Is there anything I should know about it? Normally, I would just try it out for myself and see, but I’ll be doing this alone, and I don’t have much time. Thanks!

The Tuscaloosa Trolley is Tuscaloosa County’s very limited foray into public transportation. It is generally on time unless it gets stuck behind one of the trains that stop and block a few roads.

The route is accurate, but I believe the times can be off sometimes. You get on the bus at the transit hub. After I asked D how she walked back to the dorm with her purchases from the Hub, she said that the drivers would take you to your dorm. Which of course would mess up the printed schedule. She used it today, so I can ask.

Sniner~if she has any trouble PM me and I’ll find out if D is going again next week. D got back to me, it does drop you off at your dorm with your packages just like last year.

My D went today as well. She said they were only running 1 bus, and that it was more crowded than usual. She mentioned that she tries to get one of the first two runs; the route is supposed to be 1/2 hour, but since they drop off at dorms, the later runs take longer.

There’s another thrift store downtown by the shirt shop that I get stuff for swaps from sometimes- I don’t know if you have already found what you needed to get but if not you could try there! I think it’s called Twice as Nice or something like that, and it’s not too far from campus (I usually drive since I live off campus but if I walk it takes me maybe like 15-20 minutes to downtown from the strip?)
